Pressure

Pressure is defined as the amount of force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. In this formula, P denotes the pressure exerted on the surface, force is the total force applied, and area is the surface area over which the force is spread. The units of pressure are Pascal (Pa), where 1 Pa is equivalent to one Newton of force being applied to one square meter of area.
