Ranson's Criteria for Pancreatitis Prognosis

Output: Press calculate

Formula: Ranson's Criteria Score = Sum of Positive Criteria

Ranson's criteria are a set of diagnostic measures used to predict the severity and outcome of acute pancreatitis. There are five criteria measured at admission: age over 55 years, white blood cell count greater than 16,000 cells/mm3, blood glucose greater than 11 mmol/L (200 mg/dL), serum AST (aspartate aminotransferase) greater than 250 IU/L, and serum LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) greater than 350 IU/L. Each positive criterion counts as one point. A higher score indicates greater severity, which correlates with an increased risk of complications or mortality.
