Body Mass Index (BMI)

Output: Press calculate

Formula: BMI = weight (kg) / height2 (m2)

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of a person. The BMI is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height and is expressed in units of kg/m2, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in meters. The BMI is a simple index of weight-for-height that is commonly used to classify underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obesity in adults. It can also be used as a screening tool but is not diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual.
